Myofascial Release
MFR was developed by John F. Barnes, PT, as a method of relieving long-term pain patterns that tend to invade surrounding and far-reaching regions of the body.MFR is an extremely gentle form of Therapeutic massage. Sustained steady pressure and stretching of myofascial tissue is used to relieve chronic pain, tight muscles, adhesions, restore limited range of motion. No lotion is used during this process
This modality is highly effective obtaining long term and/or permanent corrections to symptoms experienced from myofascial restrictions.
HOW IT WORKS
MFR techniques usually begin with light compression, followed by decompression. The therapist sustains pressure and follows any motion that occurs three-dimensionally as the surrounding myofascial environment releases and eliminates or reduces the bracing or holding patterns in the subconscious tissue memory.
SAFE AND EFFECTIVE
MFR techniques are safe and highly effective in reducing pain and restoring motion and optimal function on a permanent basis. This is a holistic approach, which treats the entire myofascial complex.
IMBALANCES AND DYSFUNCTIONS
Muscles fatigue quickly and give rise to structural imbalances, dysfunction, pain, and far-reaching functional compensations. These compensations become their own dysfunctions after a short time and snowball the effect.
